Air Ducts & Dryer Vents

When was the last time your air ducts got cleaned?

There are 5-steps in our air duct and dryer vent cleaning process:

  1. Remove air duct and dryer vent covers
  2. Vacuum each duct to remove dust and other accumulated debris
  3. Powerwash ductwork
  4. Clean surrounding air duct and dryer vent areas
  5. Reinstall air duct and dryer vent covers

With the purchase of air duct cleaning service, Floors ToCeiling will also inspect your Dryer Vents free of charge and determine if Dryer Vent Cleaning Service is needed. Why should I care about my dryer vents?

1. Remove air duct and dryer vent covers.
We remove the air duct and dryer vent covers and the system is inspected from the attic to the inside vents. Our video camera will help detect dirt and debris build-up.

2. Vacuum* each air duct and dryer vent cover to remove dust and other debris.
Attached to the spin brush is a suction hose that channels all the dirt and debris directly to our truck mounted debris removal equipment. This is the most important part of the process.

Using the wrong type of brush will damage the duct and can cause cracks and leaks in the ductwork resulting in power loss and your heater/air conditioner working harder. Various brushes are used for different types of ductwork:

· Aluminum Pipe – Best Quality/Long Lasting

· Plastic Flex Duct – Good Quality/Needs to be detached

· Fiberglass – Average Quality/Absorbs the most dirt

*Some operators attach the brush and hose to a portable vacuum machine instead of connecting to an outside truck mounted machine. While the motor of the portable vacuum does have suction to remove the dirt, it also has a blower that releases the contaminants right back into the home. A truck mounted unit will trap the dirt – not leak it.

3. Powerwash Ductwork
Sometimes brushing alone will not remove stubborn dirt. Power washing agitates and loosens it. The ductwork is detached and completely rinsed out.

4. Cleaning surrounding air duct and dryer vent areas
Upon customer request, a disinfectant is applied to the entry/exit areas of each vent.

5. Reinstall Air Duct and Dryer Vent Covers
With the purchase of air duct cleaning service, Floors To Ceiling will also inspect your Dryer Vents free of charge and determine if Dryer Vent Cleaning Service is needed. Why should I care about my dryer vents?
